This is a season two promo for the return of TBS’s King of the Nerds. We started by boarding TBS-provided green screen footage of the show talent. Once we had an idea of how the storyline played out with the talent we build the set out of cardboard along with the robot costume.
We shot a pre-hydrated, soon-to-be sweaty actor in the robot suit live on set. Additional environments were created in CG, the green screen talent footage was composited, and the piece was further embellished with VFX. Will.i.am provided the music.
